Dog therapy

As a trained animal-assisted educator, I visit retirement homes, dementia facilities, schools and kindergartens with my Bobtail lady "Blue".

A touching relationship

Stroking a dog or being nudged by one boosts well-being. This is demonstrated by a study from the University of Innsbruck. I am constantly amazed by the remarkable effects my dog Blue has on people. Often, even after a short time, a noticeable improvement in mood is noticeable, accompanied by greater inner peace and increased alertness. Many also report an intense feeling of well-being that arises almost immediately from contact with her. Blue's slightly elevated body temperature is also perceived as particularly pleasant, since dogs are about one degree warmer than we are, and this warmth is experienced as calming and comforting.

Healing closeness on four paws

I help people with a phobia of dogs, as well as people with cognitive and physical disabilities. When working with seniors, I create a non-judgmental, positive atmosphere with Blue, conveying warmth, closeness, and security. Studies have also shown that Blue has a beneficial influence on children's learning behavior, sense of responsibility, and motivation.
